DR. MENGELE REVISITED ... but it's educational!

A biology class lesson in Gunnison, Utah involving the dissection of a live dog has outraged some parents and students, according to a report.

"I thought that it would be just really a good experience if they could see the digestive system in the living animal," Biology teacher Doug Bierregaard said.

Biology teacher Doug Bjerregaard, who is a substitute teacher at Gunnison Valley High School, wanted his students to see how the digestive system of a dog worked.

Bjerregaard made arrangements for his students to be a part of a dissection of a dog that was still alive.

The dog was still alive, but the teacher said it was sedated before the dissection began.

With the students watching, the sedated dog's digestive system was removed.

The teacher is standing by his decision and calls it the ultimate educational experience.

Anybody else see some problems here?
Ok, first thing... This is a HIGH SCHOOL class, not a med school or veterinary school. Do these kids REALLY need to know THAT much detail about the workings of a dog's digestive system?

Second, he's a SUBSTITUTE! Do substitutes really merit that much free will when it comes to curriculum? Did he even know what that class was learning about at the time of his substitution?

...the ultimate educational experience. Why not bring the kids to an autopsy? THAT would be really wild! ...fun stuff for everyone!

Principal Anderson said he supports the lesson and it will be allowed to continue because the students are learning ...great, let's bring in porn and let the kids bang each other... Hey, they're learning about sex, why not?

Isn't there anyone out there that sees the problem here? These teachers are getting a bit too autonomous, no one is checking THEIR work... you got this nitwit playing Nazi "bring your pet to school day" ...you got a ridiculous number of teachers having illicit affairs with students. When is someone gonna say ENOUGH?!

...and worse, parents won't stand up and demand his dismissal. They are OUR children in these schools and WE should decide who teaches our kids and WHAT they teach, if they don't, WE should have the right to fire their sorry asses...
